我第一次真的听粤语流行音乐是我十岁的时候，我刚看完了一个TVB（香港电视台）的广东话电视剧。我以前听过粤语流行音乐，但是直到那时候我才知道唱歌的是谁。 

我也发现很多粤语流行歌在电视剧里面，或者流行歌手同时也是演员。我喜欢的很多歌都在TVB电视剧里，比如，我喜欢关菊英, 我特别喜欢她的歌，“万千宠爱”，是“公主嫁到” 的主题曲。而且她也是这个电视剧里的一个演员。 

现在，我最喜欢的歌手是许冠杰，很多人说他是粤语流行音乐之父。我也喜欢Beyond乐团，还特别喜欢他们的歌，“海阔天空”。 

如今听粤语流行音乐的人越来越少，所以我觉得更多人应该要听。你听不听得懂广东话并不重要， 所有人都可以喜欢粤语流行音乐，我通常也听不懂他们在说什么！ 

Cantopop – Singers and Hong Kong Broadcasters 

I was ten when I first actually listened to Cantopop and had just finished watching a TVB (a Hong Kong broadcaster) Cantonese Drama. I had listened to Cantopop before, but only after that time I knew who was singing.  

I also found out that many Cantopop songs are in TV shows, or the artist is also an actor. Many of my favourite songs are in TVB, for example, I like Susanna Kwan, and especially like her song “Beloved”, the theme song to “Can’t Buy Me Love.” She was also an actor in the show.  

Currently, my favourite singer is Sam Hui, many people call him the “father of Cantopop.” I also like the band Beyond, and especially like their song “Vast Sea, Endless Sky.”  

Nowadays, there are less and less people who listen to Cantopop, so I believe that more people should listen. It’s not important whether you understand it or not, everyone can enjoy it, and even I usually do not know what they are saying!
